Heather M. Anderson, MSN, FNP, AOCNP, ACHPN
Heather M. Anderson, NP is the Executive Director and an owner of Hope Care. She has worked in the hospice setting as a nurse practitioner since 2016. She also works as a nurse practitioner at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Care Network where she treats cancer patients with a focus on cancer survivorship. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner, and Advanced Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a minor in Microbiology in 1997. In 2004 she graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate of Science degree in nursing. Less than ten years later, she earned her Master of Science degree in nursing.
In her spare time Heather enjoys running marathons and competing in long distance triathlons.
She also founded and leads a non-profit, fitness-focused support program for female cancer survivors and caregivers, Gals on the Run AZ.
Giraldo Kato, MD
Board-certified in medical oncology, Dr. Kato has a special interest in breast cancer. He completed his residency in internal medicine at East Carolina University School of Medicine where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in both hematology and medical oncology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Using his skills to provide the highest quality care to afflicted patients, Dr. Kato coordinates the interdisciplinary breast cancer practice at Virginia G. Piper Cancer Care Network. Dr. Kato’s research interests include new therapies for breast cancer, as well as for gastrointestinal and thoracic malignancies.
